A Tribute to Loki (Our First Family Puppy): #2 Loki's First Struggle

When we brought our baby Loki home.. he already has a few problems hanging on him.. he was infested with loads of tick and some allergies at his tail, as well as his front right paws. 

***My knowledge about dogs is almost close to 0% at the time. I never would've thought I had to go through "Karma" experience again. We'll get to that later..***

My brothers were pretty much ignorant, that also applies to my parents because they wouldn't want any hand in this. The only thing I manage to prepare before we bring Loki home was his basics needs. Luckily, I bought this flea & tick shampoo to bath him. As we all know, this is not enough to protect him. We needed to clean the house.. PERIOD! However, I did not have enough time for that.. I guess I was ignorant too because I played a lot with baby Loki when I was home.

***I miss him so much... I wish I had gone home earlier to be with him..***

I tried to get the Frontline flea & tick spot on.. but baby Loki is till very little to be administered such poison to his delicate skin. We also started wiping the floor with Dettol. He hates the smell.. Sorry baby.

Look At How Fast Aya Grow

This week, is Aya's third week with The Mini Herd. Aya has some possible fungal issue on her as I have found some bald spot nearby her vajayjay and on her side. The bald spot on her side seems quite bad as there red spots that seems to look like either she scratch too much or sensitive skin. While the bald spot nearby her vajayjay does have visible dry skin. Aya's quarantine time are now extended until she is fit to join with her sisters, Fuyu and Natsu. Aya will be on extra vitamins and her fungal affected area will be cleansed twice a day with povidone iodine water + that herbal cream I got from the petshop. We changed her blanky 2 days once and she's monitored now. This girl has been refusing to drink her water. Thank God she finishes her veggies everytime though. She is now at 200g growing ever so quickly. Gosh baby... That's kinda fast!

Aya is Having Possible Fungal Issue

So.. we found a bald patch near Aya's vajayjay and it looks like she has some dry skin peeling off in that area as well. I was watching a premier screening at the time when The Asshole texted me saying that, he found this bald patch on Aya. Honestly, I couldn't concentrate. I was nearly as panic. When I came back home, I went straight to Aya and check on her. I gave a light pressed on the area to see whether she wheeks at the pain or not but Aya just look at me innocently. So, I've decided to treat it as Fungal issue. I spray the area with the anti bacterial spray for pets and applied anti fungal herbal Gel on her. Get well soon my baby. You're suppose to be meeting your sisters already. 

Baby Nera's Progress (Allergies)

I got this ffrom the vets to treat Nera's fungal issues. Note that it is exactly the fungal cream I had use on Hunter.

But Nera.. is showing signs of allergies... her skin reddened minutes after the application.

And she started scratching mindlessly.. so, that's it. Nera can only do with the oral medications. I hope she'll be okay.

Baby Nera refuse Critical Care because she thinks she's very busy with her hays nowadays. I don't know, this is her gaining naturally without Critical Care. Hopefully...

Baby Nera, Please Get Well Soon

Baby Nera is shedding crazily. Some part of her head, front left legs and back are already bald. We took her to the vets and the doctor gave her some steroids. We are to increase her vitamin C intake too. We still have to monitor her condition.. I bought her Oxbow tablet for skin and coat as well. Hopefully these helps..

Aiko's Fungal Infection Is Noted

I noticed she kept on scratching the other ear last night. So, I decided that I should take a look today when I am going to apply the fungal cream given by the vet. Then today, I found another bald area. The area is quite big.. damn girl.. where did you get all this shit on you? You're worrying me and it looks like ringworm to me. That means I have to disinfect myself everytime I touch or held you.

We have to go to the vet next weekend to get you that special shampoo or a better cream. I am not sure whether you need anything oral or not and I think all 3 of you need another round of ivermectin.. Luckily, the doctor prescribed the cream last week.

Aiko Fungal Infection Progress

Her nose and one of her rosette we found with fungal infection seems to recover fast, BUT THEN.... The Asshole found another area on her left ears. Ngahhhhhhhh! Aiko... why?!!!

Aiko & Fungal Infection Treatment Cream

We got 2 types; One which is more organic (my personal preferences although Aiko hates it a lot!), and the other is Triderma from the vets.

The organic one consists of tea tree, rosemary and eucalyptus. Product made in Thailand. Also can be use for dogs and cats.

The one from the doctor, I seriously have no idea. She only tell me that it's something for Aiko's fungal area. I tried makin my own research, I can only see that it's for humans. I'll have to ask the doctor about it on our next check up.

It's vital to treat sensitive skin and this applies to animals too! It's painful when you keep on scratching, causing bruises and making it worst. I am lucky that my baby is jujust in early stage. Hopefully, she gets well soon.

Aiko hates that I Clean her nose area before applying. This is her last night; running towards me for comfort.

Something to be aware about!

I read an info about Mange Mites Trixacarus caviae and it's creeping me out! So apparently, it's fatal if the little shits go under your skin!

The Signs

1. These species specific microscopic mites.
2. Causes: unbearable itchiness for the animal which can result in thinning and/or patchy loss of hair, scurfing of the skin (may resemble dandruff)
3. Extreme scratching and biting which aggravates the hair loss
4. Scratching by hand may produce such pain and irritation in guinea pigs that it looks like it's having a fit.
5. A guinea pig suffering from mites may become less friendly and be reluctant to interact with its owner.

Recommended Treatment: Ivermectin (injection, orally or topically (usually placed on the skin behind the ears because the fur is so thick)
