Volunteering Day: PAWS Anima Shelter (Learning Felines)

Today, I got to know the Vet Assistant there. A very nice fella who loves animals so much. He's a solo vet tech that runs the health parameters in PAWS. Well, they don't allow volunteers to help this guy.. but I personally ask him whether I can be his apprentice. Haha! and he said yes!!! I said, I don't mind helping him if they let me. He told me, they won't allow that. 😐 He does all the job by himself.. really.. he does need help.

Well.. Grey has been adopted.. haha! Bless the person who adopted him. I hope he is in good hands now.. and are always happy.

Today, he thought me how to shove meds down some felines throats. These cats are all sick. They all have flu. So, he told me.. Doxycycline should do the trick. The problem is that.. cats.. are not like dogs. It's very hard to cheat them to eat their meds or supplements. So, you gotta shove it down their throat and that's very hard. Cats tend to be very deffensive and aggressive if you don't know how to do it.

He showed me some tricks.. I didn't get to video it.. because it's just so interesting. He grab Kitty by its neck and turn Kitty to one side making Kitty's throat facing up from the side. Then, open Kitty's mouth and push the pill into its throat. After that.. pet Kitty's throat. Wow! He made me try to do it while he hold Ms. Feline.. He actually made me do it to about 6-7 cats while he is holding them. It's actually quite easy if 2 people are doing it together.. but to do it by yourself. I believe Kitty, not knowing you.. might just simply puncture you with its k9.. heh! I'd really like to try it someday thought.. when this good teacher said I have passed. Haha! He said, he will teach me again next Sunday. 😀 Friggin awesome cool guy..
