Antimetics helps prevent vomiting in dogs. I found this while reading a book about cancer in dogs. Apparently, vomiting is normal in dogs that are undergoing chemotherapy. Dogs are pretreated before then. As we all know, excessive vomiting can cause dehydration in animals. Heck, even in humans!
Check for dehydration in dogs: Simply lift up the skin on the scruff of your dog's neck, where their mama pull grab on to carry her pup and then let go. If the skin did not fall within 3 seconds, high chances your dog is dehydrated.
Cleaning after your dog: Make sure to clean after your doggie puke! If your dogs is undergoing some treatments, his/her puke may contain traces of toxic chemicals that were not fully absorbed into your doggie's system. Clean up using protective gloves.

Home Remedies
- Fast the dog. Refrain from feeding more food. You need to remove the remaining food in their tummy first before next step.
- Baking Soda + Water - Add 1 tsp of baking soda to 1/2 cup of water. Give tiny sips of this every 2 hours until vomiting stops. Follow this up with a little of Ginger Tea.
- Ginger Tea - Grate 1 tbsp of fresh ginger root or use 1 tsp of ginger powder and gently simmer with 1/2 cup of coconut milk for 10 minutes. Store in a glass bottle or mug. Give 1 - 3 tsp every 1 - 2 hours.
- Give a bland diet. After fasting period, make a prescribed diet with boiled chicken (without fats, bones and skin) with potatoes, pumpkins and rice.
- Offer Doggy some ice chips. Helps prevent dehydration.
- Supplement doggie with L-Glutamine. If doggie takes this regularly, you can double the amount while vomiting persists.
